February/March 2004 Now in our thirteenth year. www.Bdarn.com

Dear Dennis: I am a new subscriber to BDARN. I wanted to let you know that you have a great magazine here. I originally subscribed to BDARN to help me find a reputable Brittany breeder so I could purchase my first hunting dog. After looking at several issues of your magazine, making countless visits to your website, and sending out e-mails to breeders, I eventually found a reputable breeder right down the street from me. (How convenient!!) Without the assistance of your magazine and web site, I would probably still be looking around for a breeder..... Thanks for the help!!!!
I am skimming through the Dec/Jan 2004 magazine as I am writing this, and I can't wait to read the training articles, pet care tips, etc. etc. etc. I am eager to get as much info as possible before I bring my puppy home and start his training. Again, your magazine is a great help.
Keep up the good work!! Dave Huesemann, Jackson, WI
Thanks Dave, I'm glad we could help. Keep on checking in on the website. We grow more each month then the second largest hunting/dog site is in total size. DG

Dennis, I looked forward to receiving the Dec-Jan issue when you asked about featuring one of my setters. I was more than pleased with the cover and your feature of my web site. If I have learned any thing it is that there is more to breeding than just putting two good dogs together. I am not a young man I hope I will be remembered as breeding some quality
dogs. There was an old timer Glen Curtis in Kentucky and I still remember him for the quality of dogs he bred. Wish you and Ellen the best in the coming New Year., Dick Geswein
Dick, your English Setter looked great on the cover. And I have heard nothing but compliments about your dogs. DG

Dennis, Thank you for your very sensitive handling of your article "Burying A Dog in the Winter". We were devastated when our companion and friend was killed by a neighbor's vehicle on our property, yesterday (January 13). We tried chinking the ground with an axe (you know!), and nothing. It was bad enough to have our dog tragically taken from us, but then to even think of delaying closure, and not giving our buddy the proper laying to rest that he deserved, well, we didn't know what to do.
Fortunately, I surfed the web, not knowing what such a search would lead me to, and it lead me to your article. While it was hard to read, and I'm sure even harder to write, thank you for having the courage to write it. We needed it very badly. I just wanted you to know what a comfort it was, knowing how to handle the dilemma we never wanted to have (how to lay him to rest). You and your article made a big difference in two Canadian's lives today, thank you. Merilee MacLaggan Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada
Thanks, Jazz has been gone for a year and I still say hi to her when I mow over her grave. Thank god she went fast and was old enough

to have had a good life. Putting her in the ground was much easier then burying Ener her 18 month old niece the year before. There is never a good time to lose a dog, some times are better then others. I'm glad to see I could help. Jenny is the spitting image of her aunt and more than once she has been called Jazz around here. So I feel Jazz lives on in her genes. DG

I apologize for not getting my articles forwarded to you. I had a real "eye opener" when I attempted to write an interesting article. I didn't realize it was so tough to do what appears to be so easy for you folks who do it everyday! I'll keep working on some articles and see if I can get one pounded out that I wouldn't be ashamed to submit. Again, Dennis, I can only begin to appreciate your patience and dedication to publishing such a fine magazine. Have a great NEW YEAR! Respectfully, Clarke J. Campbell, Campbell's Country Kennels
Clarke, having trained dogs, I have high respect for you that can do it on a daily basis. The first article is the toughest, after that it only takes about four hours a page... talk about a terrible job...but I love it. DG

Thanks for your kindness and boy does the advertising increase the hits on my website. Your link gives the most referrals! Kind regards, Randy Jahnke, Kerygma Cockers, Dodge City, KS
Your welcome, it's great to have quality breeders for our readers to choose from. I just read Google, the directory of the internet, has less then 5% of all websites catalogued. We've been on since 1994 with 15,000+ pages thankfully our new breeders get seen.DG

Keep the letters and pictures coming we'll make room.
