Introduce a kid to hunting this fall, someone did
your you!
Welcome to our Dec/Jan issue of Bird Dog & Retriever News.
This is my favorite issue of the year. Because it means when
we get this one to press I can start getting in the woods and
looking for birds. Thanks subscribers and advertisers for staying
with us.
We had a great summer and expected I would tell you about Scoobys
first pass running in the NAHRA (North American Hunting Retriever
Association Test), but mother nature decided Scooby should not
be running the NAHRA test or the Fall MN Hunting Spaniel Test.
Scooby came into heat the day before running the NAHRA test which
meant she would go out of heat the last day of the MN Hunting
Spaniel Hunt Test. It was her turn. Jenny did it to me LAST year
at this time. Have I ever spoke about the pitfalls of having
female dogs?
But Ron our son is busy getting used to being a Freshman in High
School and playing football. Did you know that High School girls
actually give freshmen boys telephone numbers the first day of
school? Any advice with dogs or teenagers would be GREATLY appreciated
about now. Well enough with our life we have a magazine to talk
about.
We all lost an interesting character with losing Steve Irwin
the Crocodile hunter. It is a great loss, he will be missed and
leaves a wife and two young kids. It's sad, but not as sad as
the statement from a PETA person who said Steve got what was
coming to him and deserved to die for teasing animals. Could
someone get these people a life and a sense of being?
Anyway I promised the dogs and myself I would take them hunting
at least two days a week starting in December, so if I don't
answer my cell, I'm doing something REAL important. I hope you
have a safe and fun hunting season, we'll talk again in December.
