Dennis, You never responded to my e-mail
what gives? Do you not answer e-mail? Pat G. Des Moines, IA
Pat, I have been getting an increasing number of people e-mailing
me without any subject line. I get about 1500 e-mails A DAY,
with all my e-mail accounts... most want to make something bigger,
smaller, make me rich or get me a date... none of which I really
need right now. Say nothing about all the viruses and just plain
junk I get. It's really bad when I get a 50 messages a day disguised
as from myself I never sent. Did I tell you I think I now own
a country in Africa worth $50 million. So there are about a dozen
type of messages I don't even open including: blank subject lines,
HI, Important and the list goes on... it's the only way I can
get through the 1500 e-mails in reasonable order. Try putting
something reasonable as a subject line like: "My BDN subscription"
"Info about advertising in BDN" or something that will
catch my eye. You may also try e-mailing me at Dennis@Guldan.com
not as many pervs have found that address yet. One hint, I ALWAYS
respond to the e-mails that want me to do something. So if you
did not get a response, send it again. Dennis G
Thank you for including the picture of my daughters and our GSP
in the Dec/Jan issue. You couldn't have made three little girls
in PA any happier. After multiple trips to school, swim meets,
dance lessons and brownies, our formerly "mint condition"
copy is now "slightly used". If you have any Dec/Jan
issues in stock, I'd like to purchase a few. I've enclosed a
check for $ 20.00 to cover the cost of some replacement issues. |
On a personal note: I want to compliment
you on your publication. It's refreshing to see and read material
presented without regard to political correctness. My two oldest
daughters are eight and ten years old and they're constantly
bombarded with the sickening "noise" of disillusioned
publishers, public school administrators, media giants, "antis"
etc. My wife and I face a constant challenge in helping them
to filter out the "noise" and replace it with a "realistic"
perception of life. Your publication helps us because I can always
find something in an issue that facilitates our teaching of life's
virtues. Of particular note is the letter in the Oct/Nov 03 issue
THE FLIGHT, (the article about delaying a plane for returning
military) which has been read and reread many times in our home.
Whether it's intended or not, your magazine provides far more
than its title suggests.. Keep up the good work.
Steven R, Shillington, PA
Steven, It's great to see kids, especially girls, involved in
dogs and hunting. When Ellen opened your letter and saw the picture
of your girls she immediately said we need to make space for
this. I so get tired of the Political Correct crowd that tell
us how we need to be open to new ideas and things as I watch
them slam the door on anything that does not back their favorite
cause. Hippacrits abound in this world that no one is to blame
for anything. So keep on hammering away at it, we watch the evening
news every night with our eleven year old son Ron, and he's starting
to get it. Thanks for the letter and picture. More copies of
that issue are on the way. Dennis G |
Dennis, My wife and I are thinking about having a litter
of pups from our Master Hunter bitch. When is the best time of
year to have pups? What should we charge? And how do we go about
advertising them? Jerry T. St Louis, MO
Jerry, being as you have said from your Master Hunter bitch,
it tells me you have been around a few dog people. So I am sure
by now you know about getting hips Xray'd and OFA certification.
You probably also know a few great studs since to get a Master
Hunter you spent a year or three at hunt tests. Ask around what
people are getting for pups this year in your area for pups from
a Master Hunter. You should have a premium of three to four hundred
dollars from the back yard breeders you see in the local papers.
As far as when, I like July pups. Scooby was a January pup and
you know when it was 30 below she for some odd reason did not
want to go outside to do her thing at 2 AM. Jenny was a July
pup and she spent most her early days outside stalking and chasing
butterflies as pups should. A January pup can be hunted in the
fall... a bold July pup can tag along.
As far as advertising, for about $50 we can get you a 20 word
classified adv and a website with a picture. If I were you I'd
advertise them before the breeding. The down payments should
cover a good portion of the vet bills if it's an easy birth.
Good Luck! DG
Keep the letters and pictures coming we'll make room.
